In view of the ongoing COP26 meeting on climate change and the widespread concern about the effects of global warming, we will hold an online climate crisis workshop on Saturday, November 20, from 2 to 3:30pm Pacific Time. Anyone who is familiar with Reflective Meditation, has attended Sati Sangha or Pine Street Sangha events, or is associated with a Reflective Meditation teacher is invited to attend.
The workshop will start with a conversation between Linda Modaro and Bill Wellhouse about the crisis and how it impacts our meditation experience and lives. This will be followed by a period of meditation and reflection, then a discussion/sharing period. We will end with a short meditation session.
We hope there will be enough interest from our time together to form an ongoing group.
Please sign up for this workshop by emailing Bill Wellhouse (bwellhouse@gmail.com). A Zoom link will be sent to the email address you provide on the morning of the workshop.
Bill Wellhouse: Reflective Meditation and Dharma Teacher, Climate Activist
I think what really attracts me about this Reflective Meditation is the spirit of exploration and the quality of kindness to myself and others that seems to arise from the practice. My other interests include a very strong engagement in the climate change movement as well as continuing to hike in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California and the canyons of Utah and Arizona as I have for years.
Linda Modaro: Sati Sangha Director and Lead Meditation and Dharma Teacher
Linda and Sati Sangha collaborate with Nelly Kaufer of Pine Street Sangha to creatively evolve the practice and the ways it is offered. While our primary purpose is to teach Reflective Meditation and Dharma, we are committed to finding ways for our sangha to become more aware and active in the face of our world’s emergencies.
