Spring: the weather

Before many of my online groups, it has become typical to check in with each other about the weather, locally and globally. Climate changes have affected each one of us. So in the Thursday 3:30-5pm PT group we did some reflective writing on the topic before we meditated. Below is one line from each one of us, put together into a dharma poem. Linda The weather is a reminder of conditionality and Annica, as I understand it, and of our vulnerability. We have had near fires and near floods, lucky us, but our friends in Mullumbimby (10km away) are dealing with these uncertainties all the time. Always changing, beautiful and painful, freeing my expectations in hopes I can enjoy this wonderful play. The weather is out of control, people are out of control; we don’t know how to be out of control, don’t know how to be in uncertainty, need a practice and practice to be in it. The beach I pass everyday is eroding; but life still seems to go on. What on earth can we do but relish these days that are sublime – soak it up and build a sense memory to draw on. In good news, I found half a dozen of my smaller fish hiding in the pond and have built a screen to save them from kookaburras.
